St. Louis Barr French Onion Soup


Bar French Onion Soup, was one of the most favourite soup recipes in St. Loui's. Most People of St. Loui's really like it ( I hope I am right ) even young or whole family member. And this soup will be easely found on restaurant in department stores. So to made this valentine's day special a bowl of warm soup will be great, heres the recipe for 16 servings.

INGREDIENTS


5 Lbs onions, unpeeled
½ Cup of butter or 1 stick
1 ½ Teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
2 Tablespoon of paprika
1 Bay leaf
7 ( 16 ounce ) cans beef broth divide
1 Cup of dry white wine
¾ Cup all purpose flour or ¾ cup of instant flour
2 Teaspoon of salt
You can add one some of kitchen bouquet, french baguette, swiss cheese or gruyere cheese as you like of course.

DIRECTIONS


Step : 1 Peel onions and slice it 1/8 inch thick or do as you like
Step : 2 Melt the butter in a 6 quarts or larger stockpot. Add the onions, cook, uncovered in a low heat for 1 ½ hours. Stirring occasionally. The long cooking time will made the onios mellow and sweet.
Step : 3 Stir in pepper, paprika and also bay leafe, saute it over a love heat for 10 minutes more and stirring frequently.
Step : 4 Pour in 6 cans broth and wine and then increase the heat until it's boil.
Step : 5 Dissolve the flour in a remaining can broth and stir into boiling soup.
Step : 6 Reduce the heat and simmer slowly for at least 2 hours until the color rich brown with caramel coloring, season it with salt.

You can put that in refrigerate overnight and for serving it nextmoring just heat the soup in mircowave or on stove top. Hope you enjoy this.
